Permitting & Inspection Requirements

Establishments that offer food must obtain a Food Establishment Permit and must be inspected on a bi-annual basis by the City of Oak Point to verify that the food serving establishment meets both City and State health standards. Examples of these establishments include:

  • Convenience Stores
  • Daycare
  • Grocery Stores
  • Restaurants
  • Schools

Regulation

New food serving establishments must submit plans to the City to verify that the establishment meets current standards relating to:

  • Equipment
  • Floorings
  • Grease Traps and Interceptors 
  • Outdoor Enclosures
  • Outside Storage Receptacles
  • Restrooms
  • Sinks
  • Utensils and Fixtures
  • Wall and Ceiling Finishes
  • Other Items

Schedule an Inspection

To schedule an inspection that is necessary to obtain a Food Establishment Permit, please complete and return a Food Establishment Permit Application (PDF) to:

The amount of the Permit fee is dependent upon the type of the food establishment. After the Application is submitted, an inspection of the food establishment by the City’s Health Inspector will be scheduled.
