Level One Paving will begin mobilizing on the reconstruction of the low water crossing at the entrance of the Emerald Sound Subdivision on Emerald Sound Blvd. beginning Friday, January 17, 2020. This construction project will entail the reconstruction of the Emerald Sound Blvd. entrance which involves the removal and replacement of the existing asphalt and concrete pavement and the installation of a trench drain with safety end treatment. The finished crossing will still have a valley, but it will not be as deep and will no longer be considered a low water crossing.
The Contract does allow Level One Paving to completely close the entrance, but longer than 1-week. Level One Paving has said they will attempt to keep the entrance to Emerald Sound on Emerald Sound Blvd. open to traffic as much as possible. In the event they need to close the entrance, the contractor will place detour signs leading to Amber Ln.
The contract allows for 60 calendar days to complete the project in full. Level One Paving is anticipating taking approximately 30 working days to complete construction. If during the project you have any questions, please contact Stephen Ashley, City Manager or Martin Almaraz, Public Works Director. Both can be reached at (972) 294-2312.
