Meetings are held to conduct city business, however at their regular meetings, Council does receive comments from the public during the Public Input item on the agenda. If a citizen wishes to address the Council at a meeting, they must submit a Public Input Card (PDF) to the City Secretary. These forms are also available at the entrance to the City Council meeting.

Oak Point is a Home Rule City that operates under a Council-Manager form of government. Under this form of government, the City Council employs a professionally trained City Manager to implement the policies, contracts, and agreements that are approved by the City Council. The City Manager is also responsible for managing the daily operations of the City and for implementing the City's budget.
